The header image depicts a woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, sumi ink, 181 x 418 cm) with the title “Alas! Heisoku-kan (Raging Battle-ship the Dead-End)”, 2012, by the artist Sachiko Kazama. It is a commentary on the Fukushima nuclear reactor accident of 2011. Following a major earthquake, a 15-metre tsunami disabled the power supply and cooling of three Fukushima Daiichi reactors, causing a nuclear accident on 11 March 2011. All three cores largely melted in the first three days.
